Éder, Europe champion who also plays Padbol

The scorer of the goal that gave Portugal the only European Championship was delighted with our sport

There are players who mark a milestone in their careers due to some specific fact, either because of their goals, plays, titles or extra-sports actions. And Ederzito António Macedo Lopes, known worldwide as “Éder”, is one of them.

The Portuguese striker was the one who gave his country the first and only European Championship in its history, when he scored the 1-0 goal against France in 2016. And, like so many other stars of the Old Continent, he was also encouraged to enjoy playing Padbol.

Éder accepted the proposal to have fun with his friends and showed his quality with very technical shots between the crystal walls. Even, as a good story and an anecdote, he showed up to play with the team shirt of his beloved Portugal. But he was not the only Lusitanian footballer, since several high-ranking professionals such as Deco, Raul Meireles and José Bosingwa, among others, also played in the Leca Da Palmeira club, from Porto.

Currently, Éder is playing for Al Raed in Saudi Arabia after his long career in teams such as Braga, Swansea, Lille and Lokomotiv, among others. Perhaps, in the near future, we will see him enjoying and displaying all his talent again on the Padbol courts.
