It will be held in the Plaza de las Monjas on September 27 and 28.

The Plaza de las Monjas de Huelva will host the National Padbol Championship on September 27 and 28. It will be the first edition that this competition is held outdoors and in the center of a city, so a large influx of public is expected. “The emblematic location and the coincidence in dates with the III Sports Fair presage that the National Padbol Championship 2019 will be the most successful of those held to date,” says Begoña Calderón, general director of Padbol Spain, a company in charge of marketing and popularize this fusion sport of soccer and paddle tennis throughout the Spanish territory.

Although Padbol is a new sport with just a decade of life, its consolidation in Spain has been such that that of Huelva will already be the sixth edition of the National Championship, after those held in Leganés (2013), La Nucía (2014 and 2015) , Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2016) and Palma de Mallorca (2018).

“The Huelva public will be able to discover Padbol from the hand of the best couples not only in Spain, but in the world”, highlights Francisco Javier López Bartomeu, sports director of Padbol Spain, referring to the duo made up of former footballer Juan Alberto Ramón Escalas and Juan Miguel Hernández, current national, European and world champion. But the couple to beat will have rivals as tough as Francisco Javier Santiago Gracia and Javier Asensio or Fidelio Santiago Gracia and Fran Trujillo.

In total there will be 24 participating couples, 12 in the pro category and as many in the amateur category, all of them the best classified after the Spain Padbol Tour 2018/2019 dispute.
